Parental consent first
A grown-up reviews and agrees to how voice is used before the first chat. Consent can be withdrawn any time.
Parental gate
A quick grown-up question guards settings, purchases and links — so little fingers can’t wander off.
Child lock
Lock the controls with one tap, and let the friend nap on its own when no one is talking.
Gentle by design
The friend uses kind words, says a clear, caring “no” to anything harmful, and never asks for names, addresses or schools.
No ads, no accounts

Report a response
If the friend ever says something that worries you, you can report it from the parent settings.
Tolgy’s voice is generated by AI, so grown-up supervision is always required. While a chat is active, the microphone audio is streamed to the AI service that runs it (Microsoft Azure). Details in our Privacy Policy.

What is Tolgy?
Tolgy: AI Talking Friend is an iPhone app that gives young children a friendly animal buddy to talk with out loud. Your child chats with a panda, cat, bunny, koala, T-Rex, unicorn or another character, and the character answers with a warm, playful voice in real time. It is made for children aged 1½ to 9 and is used on a parent's phone, with the parent's consent.
What ages is Tolgy for?
Children from about 1½ to 9 years old. A parent picks one of four age ranges during setup (1.5–3, 3–5, 5–7 or 7–9), and the friend changes how it talks: short, simple words for toddlers, and more curious why-and-how conversations for older children. Children aged 5–7 can also practice letters and numbers, and 7–9 can try simple math games.
How does Tolgy work?
A parent sets it up once: age range, language, character and voice. After that the child just talks. Tolgy listens through the phone's microphone and the animal replies out loud in real time, like a phone call with a friend. There are no accounts to create and nothing to type.
Is Tolgy safe for children?
Tolgy was designed with a parent in control. A grown-up must give consent before the first conversation, and a simple grown-up question protects settings, purchases and links. The friend is instructed to use gentle words, to say a kind no to anything harmful, and never to ask for personal details such as names, addresses or schools. There are no ads, no accounts and no third-party tracking. As with any AI, it can occasionally say something unexpected, so adult supervision is required, and parents can report any response from inside the app.
Does Tolgy record my child?
Tolgy does not record, store or review conversations, and the app keeps no conversation history. While a conversation is active, the microphone audio is streamed live to the AI service that generates the friend's voice (Microsoft Azure), only to run that conversation. Microsoft may temporarily keep data to detect abuse, as described in our privacy policy. A sleeping friend does not listen at all, and a parent can withdraw consent at any time.
Which languages does Tolgy speak?
English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Korean, Turkish and Mandarin Chinese. The parent chooses the language during setup and can change it at any time.
What can my child do with Tolgy?
Chat about anything they are curious about, tell stories, practice speaking and listening, feed the character a snack, and talk about everyday things like healthy food and bedtime. Older children can learn letters and numbers (ages 5–7) or play simple math games (ages 7–9). The friend is a playful companion and never a replacement for a parent, teacher, doctor or therapist.
How much does Tolgy cost?
The first 5 minutes of conversation are free. After that, Tolgy Plus is an auto-renewing subscription: Basic at $8.99 per month (30 minutes of conversation each month), Pro at $19.99 per month (65 minutes) or Max at $79.99 per month (270 minutes, i.e. 4.5 hours), with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Yearly plans are available at a discount. Prices are in US dollars and vary by country. Minutes are counted only while a conversation is active, so a sleeping friend uses none.
Does Tolgy need an internet connection?
Yes. The friend's voice is created live over the internet, so Wi-Fi or mobile data is needed for conversations.
Which devices does Tolgy run on?
iPhone with iOS 17 or later. It is built for use in portrait orientation on a parent's phone.
When can I get Tolgy?
